Aliko Dangote founded the Dangote Group, which grew from a trading business in Lagos into one of Africa’s largest industrial conglomerates, with operations in cement, sugar, salt, fertiliser and petroleum refining across the continent. His Dangote Petroleum Refinery in Lagos is among the largest single-train refineries in the world. Regularly ranked by Forbes as Africa’s richest person, he also funds health, education and economic-empowerment work across Africa through the Aliko Dangote Foundation.
